As stated in the Release Notes, cmd+Enter on Mac will canonize strings into .com URLs. The official Open in New Tab shortcut for the urlbar is Alt+Enter (Option+Enter) from quite a few years, we aknowledge users may try cmd+Enter because Cmd is used to open links in new tabs. If you don't use canonization, you can disable it by setting `browser.urlbar.ctrlCanonizesURLs` to false in about:config, as indicated in the Release Notes.
