env:
- no network connection (pull the cable/turn off wireless)
- ensure you're set to "sync when going offline" in prefs.

When you "go offline" in thunderbird, TBird tries to do the sync. If you have
lots of folders selected for sync'ing, this results in a "cannot connect to XXX
server" dialog for every folder.
