User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.13; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/60.0 Build ID: 20180516032328 Steps to reproduce: I have using shadowsocks to cross china's gfw. My os is macos 10.13.4, my ss client is shadowsocksx-ng 1.7.1, firefox version 60.0.1. Actual results: I set firefox proxy mode "Use system proxy settings", and it work well with shadowsocksx-ng's pac mode. (Proxy auto-config, determine using proxy or not automaticly) But when i set shadowsocksx-ng mode to global proxy mode. firefox can not access any web page, it just like being out of network. Expected results: It should be working well with shadowsocksx-ng's global mode and pac mode. Like safari and chrome, they do well with shadowcoskx-ng, not matter pac or global mode. But i like firefox, i don't want to use chrome insted of firefox. PS: In windows system, firefox can do well with shadowsocksx-ng's global mode. just not work in macos. =.=# please fix this bug.... i dont want to replace my default browser. _| ̄|O
Hi wang.funway, Can you please add more steps about how to reproduce this issue? I'm not familiar with shadowsocksx-ng. Can you please try to see if you can reproduce this issue with the latest FF Nightly? Please download Firefox Nightly from here: https://nightly.mozilla.org/

Daniel, could you look at this? This is OSX specific [1], I don't remember what platform you are on, tho. [1] https://github.com/shadowsocks/ShadowsocksX-NG/tree/v1.7.1

(In reply to wang.funway from comment #2) > I have recorded a video to show the issue: https://youtu.be/JTruO7u31co Lovely video, thanks. It shows perfectly well what works and what doesn't. I've tried to figure out what exactly the "global mode" is and works, technically, but I've failed so far. I assume that's just a single socks proxy supposed to be used by all outgoing traffic and it should be figured out automatically? This issue seems to have existed a while and according to comments on the shadowsocksX-NG's issue tracker[1], might have broken in Firefox 57. I suspect this could be a dupe of bug 1424820 [1] = https://github.com/shadowsocks/ShadowsocksX-NG/issues/342
