User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051107 Firefox/1.5
Build Identifier: Thunderbird/1.5 Build 20051025

When I attempt to create an invalid mailbox name (i.e. !@#$%&^" ) no error message is generated. I found this by attempting to create a mailbox named "fooby" (including the quotes...which are invalid).

I watched the transaction using Ethereal and saw that the CREATE command is rejected with "NO Invalid mailbox name".

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new folder on an IMAP4 mailbox
2. Use a folder name *with* quotes (i.e. "foobar")

Actual Results:
Nothing happens, no status of error or success. Ethereal was my only clue that something went wrong...I'm guessing most users won't know how to use a network sniffer :)

Expected Results:
I'm not sure if Thunderbird should try to be pre-emptive and deny inavlid mailbox names, or wait for a "NO" response back and then propigate that back to the user. Either way, some indication of failure would be better than no feedback at all.

Is this still existing in recent Thunderbird versions?

Doesn't look like David is working on it.
