Both test cases work normally here with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.2) Gecko/20070219 Firefox/2.0.0.2 Please retest in Firefox's safe-mode, with a new profile or with a reinstallation in a new empty folder. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_Mode_(Firefox) http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Folder

i tried the 3 suggestions and none of them fixed the problem. it also appears that NONE of the keys worked when trying to create a profile. couldn't even change the name. i could not type anything.

Seems like a focus issue (this is wrm, by the way). Does it work when you first focus the dialog, by clicking with the mouse somewhere in the dialog?

No, at first I thought it was that, but even when i focus on the correct button or text box, I cannot enter text or click buttons using the keyboard

So keys don't work for modal dialogs that are open? Do keys work for the Page Info or the Options dialog? Do keys work when in a second Firefox window?

No. Neither of those options work. Its strange. When the box asking if I want to save or open the download file, I cannot use the keyboard to navigate or chose a box, but i can type in a new file name and press enter to continue on the next box

I have no idea why you have this problem :( The only way (that I can see) to understand more of the cause of your problem is to find the regression range. We have daily builds of branch (and trunk) and we keep those stored at (for recent builds, older builds are stored elsewhere): http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/ Would you be willing to find out when this regressed? For example, do you see this issue with the 1.8.1 branch build of 2007-01-02? http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/2007-01-02-03-mozilla1.8/
