There's a report that the bottom of the eyedropper button on the color picker tooltip is not visible on Linux.

Using a "topcenter bottomleft" alignment should do the trick.

I can't reproduce this on my Thinkpad with Ubuntu 13.10. Brian, could you find a fix?

Hard to reproduce issues are the best kind of issues.  I'm seeing the alignment in attachment 8412816 [details] on Ubuntu 12.04.  I can take a look at it.
