Battery on flatfish tablet drains rapidly
(1) drains within < 5 hours in sleep mode
(2) drains within a few hours on full charge with regular usage
Can confirm. Crazy fast battery drain.
Wasn't sure if it was just a hardware thing (for just mine or all devices), but this reflects my experience as well.

This may be specific to (a few) app(s)? I noticed the last few times I left my Flatfish in sleep mode, the battery was still fairly good the next day. (I'm familiar with this phenomenon on iOS/Android, but not sure if the same thing can happen w/ B2G)

My device is coming fairly soon but have you tried closing any open apps? Bear in mind this device may be like a Geeksphone device where battery goes down quick.
I haven't done any testing specific to this issue since, but I have not since experienced it.
My device has mostly been lying dormant, but on, frequently with wifi off, and it has had *extremely* long battery life.
I don't know if this issue was somehow attributable to an open app or if there was something specific to the initial setup (like a remnant from the setup app).
Be interesting to know if it's a common experience after first boot or if it reoccurs consistently.
Richard, have you seen this issue occurring outside of your first reboot?

I've had the same issue with a faster than expected drain during usage and a very quick drain while in standby and an excruciatingly long charge time. Could this be related to a power management problem?

Caspy7, I had rebooted the device multiple times when I was seeing this before. On other platforms (iOS, Andrdoi) I've seen this issue in early development particularly for apps that poll the network and may not do it very smartly. My guess is that one (or two) of the apps we're using are polling indiscriminately causing fast battery drain. Probably an app that's common to all of us. Are you guys using the email app, for example?
Recently, when I've set the Flatfish aside, I too have noticed the battery charge retention is otherwise great (and I believe email may have been closed). If we can isolate the (few) app(s) that are causing this issue, that may help to hone in on the cause.

I do a see a big decrease in battery. Mine came in the mail about 90% charged. After less than 1 hour of use with a few reboots the battery sits at 57%.
A few causes for this is
-the brightness on the device default is set to 100%.
-apps requiring a data connection drains the battery rapidly as well.

I keep the device bright and don't always see batter drain. My suspicion is an app (or 2) that is too chatty with the network.

Are we still seeing this issue?

Hey, in my opinion the problem is related to the 1.4 and 2.0 version of Firefox OS. I was using 1.4 without any battery problem until the beginning of May. I then noticed that my Keon (which was able to be used during 4-5 days) now needs to be plugged after 1-2 days. Many persons in the mozilla FR community have the same problem, which is still not fixed. I heard that this impact 2.0 too, but not 2.1.
Can you try to flash Flatfish with FFOS 1.3 and tell us if there is the same battery issue? What version are you currently using?

not just Flatfish. Flame with 2.0 nightly has the problem since approx. 22nd August as well.
Having no apps running, GPS, wifi and bluetooth turned off, during 7hrs of standby mode is more than 35% of battery gone, which is crazy and unacceptable for common end user

Jason, is battery drain a known issue on 2.1? I'm seeing this on my flame also (just flashed latest build last Thurs.). I have wifi on, but in 36 hours of standby mode (no phone usage), my fully charged battery is almost dead.

I think you might be hitting bug 1061012 actually, which just got fixed.

Awesome! Thanks, Marek! Just realized I still need to upgrade. That's great to know. I'll see if I can verify on Flatfish as well.

My battery on Flatfish with vendor's build seems pretty good.
I'll look and test into this further. If you have any additional comments, feel free to add.

Thanks, Andrew! Can you confirm your build? Also, has anyone tried to flash Flatfish with the latest build available? My flatfish is out on loan. If the issue is resolved on Flatfish, I'll close this bug.

I haven't been seeing this on my device.
Mark/Josh can you confirm?

I haven't seen this issue in a while. Right now, I can't flash my tablet, so I don't know about the newer nightlies.
