This is an odd one and not 100% reproducible. Only happens if QuickLaunch is
enabled.
Exact steps I use to reproduce:
Start browser from desktop shortcut (QL is enabled) then select mail/news from
envelope icon in lower status bar. Bring up any news server and select any group
then read a message or two. Close mail/news by clicking on the X in upper right
instead of using the QL right-click menu to "exit". Then exit browser by
clicking on the X. Crashes in PIPNSS.DLL

Asa mentioned to cc Trudelle also.
Nominating in case this is a moz0.9.4 problem and deemed serious enough.

It is a nightly build as indicated by 2001091703 in my initial filing
OK, I see that; thanks.
I am unable to reproduce this with my debug branch build on Win2K. Can anybody
reproduce it on a branch build? If not, we should make it nsbranch- or remove
nsbranch keyword entirely.

There aren't any comments on this bug since the 18th of
Sept. Can QA regess against the Netscape commercial builds and determine if
this is still a valid bug? If so, and we can get fixes/reviews in the next day
or two, please mark as nsbranch+ which will get this on the PDT radar. Else,
mark is as nsbranch-. Also, can someone comment in the bug how serious you think
this is? PDT is only accepting "stop ship" bugs such as data loss and loss of
major functionality.
cc: jpatel to see if this is on the topcrash reports.
I wonder if this is in any way related to:
http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98182 since that bug talks about
quicklaunch mode (but, with multiple profiles) and a crash.

This doesn't look like a topcrash to me...but I only have "PIPNSS.DLL" to query
for. If Jay Garcia can get some Talkback incidents for this crash, it would
help look for more of these crashes in the Talkback database.

jay: do you have more than one profile?

Running a shared 6.1 / Mozilla profile but that doesn't matter as I uninstalled
6.1 to test the problem, didn't make a difference. I might add that this "bug"
is hardly close to reproducible. I have no idea what triggers it when it does
crash. I cannot force a crash.
But to answer more precisely, no, not running a second profile.

Cannot reproduce this crash at all now. Running 2001092603 tonight. May want to
shelve this bug for now as I don't see any similar reporting in any of the groups.
