Now that bug 257061 has landed, which adds a counter that displays the number of found items AND shows which occurrence is currently selected, the message is superfluous. In my opinion it can be removed. It'll de-clutter the find bar a bit.
Flags: firefox-backlog?
Stephen, from a UX point-of-view, would agree with removing this message?

Not setting flags yet, pending input from UX.

Summary: Remove the "Reached end of page" notification now that we a counter → Remove the "Reached end of page" notification now that we have a counter
FYI, Sublime Text still has both the counter and the message.

A transient indicator that you have reached the end of the page and are now cycling through what you have already seen doesn't seem superfluous to me. I mean, technically it is :), but an additional textual communication is going to make it more obvious that you are starting over. I think my problem with this message is actually on the other end of the spectrum: It's not obvious enough. It's subtle and it appears outside of where your attention is focused. Chances are you are going to miss both the counter and the "continued from top" message while you are searching the content.

Stephen's direction from comment 5 is exactly what will be addressed by bug 266338
