I tried opening a PHP source page in composer where the heading and footer are generated by PHP calls. I wanted to only edit the main middle part of the page that is static. Unfortunately, upon saving it turned out that Composer totally removed all logic between "<?php" and "?>" (including the tags themselves), thus utterly destroying the page, which I had to subsequently restore from backup and go back to low-level source editing with another editor. Pls add non-destructive support for editing pages with embedded PHP logic. (see attachment for example)
