User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:29.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/29.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20140421221237 Steps to reproduce: Clicked on the Print button on my toolbar which was installed from the customize menu. Also tried putting the Print button back on the quick menu but it has the same effect when clicked from there. Actual results: The Print Preview screen opens instead of the Print... dialog box. Expected results: In all previous versions the Print... dialog box opens. There has not been a Print Preview option in the customize menu until this version. Now there is only a Print Preview button instead of the Print... button.

I can confirm that unnecessary change in action from the Print button. By going thru the Print Preview window before getting to the "native print dialog" box users are no longer able to print a selection of a web page; Preview shoes the whole webpage, not their "selection". Their only recourse is to use the keyboard command to initiate printing a "selection". {Ctrl + P} on Windows & Linux OS's. From my experience very few users are even aware of {Ctrl + P} for initiating printing, much less use it on a regular basis. With all the unresolved print bugs that never seen to get fixed, at first glance it might seem to be a good idea to route printing thru the preview window to show users how their pages will be printed by Firefox (save their paper and ink/toner), but not at the expense of users having to figure out how to print a selection.

This bug status should be changed to New. It is a confirmed issue. The related bug casing this issue is bug 868586 It may be a deliberate regression but it is nevertheless a regression it causes the full printing dialogue and options to be not easily and directly available. So should it have the keyword regression. Possibly the title should be revised. Currently >Print Button changed to Print Preview in version 29 Maybe >Print button must still provide print option. Print preview alone is not sufficient. I also wonder if it should still be marked as blocking 939862 This does impact users. Questions are raised in the support forum.
