Hi ,

Long time no talk since we last worked on a marketing project.  We have a new marketing campaign to support the 1.3 release.  I will provide the background and the things that we need to get done.  When this was worked on the last round, files were all over the place, so we consolidated them together and hopefully, by doing so, the next round of update is easier.

ACTIONS: localize strings in the "pt-BR" tab.  Most of these string are localized but we don't have the spreadsheet or Word file anymore.  Do use the reference material below to retrieve them.

Of course, once the screens are created, you will have a chance to go over them to review.  That usually takes sometime to complete.

I believe Fernando may have helped me on this in 1.1. I am cc'ing him on the bug as well.  Either way, I hope you can help me with this or work with Fernando to get this completed.  

I am working to get the process a bit streamlined so no work is wasted in the future.

Hi Marcelo,
The graphic designer had these 2 comments:

1. I noticed the 1.1 images used the time format '12h21' - I'll proceed with this format unless directed otherwise.

2. As for the music app, the localizer gave the string 'Daniel Carvalho', which is a popular Brazilian footballer, not music artist. 1.1 used the original Sanctuary album with a slightly different artist name and song title. Shall I use the old example?

2 - I came up with a random name but forgot about the footballer :/ I didn't choose a real artist because I don't know if Mozilla own anyone rights to use somebody's name, but you can use anyone that fits the situation :)

I've changed artist name to Elias Santana - I couldn't find any famous people with this name.

I just have one question, which is adressed on line 28 - Do I need to provide a shorter word than "Configurações" to translate "Settings"?

One comments from designer re the screen 6-IconGrid: Configurações is squeezed a little tight, if you want to provide another word pls do.

Ok, it worked.
I took a look on the screens... here's my feedback:

FxOS_20-Lockscreen_NowPlaying_1280x1920_PT:
- "Operador" should be "Operadora";
- "Viernes, 26 de mayo" should be "Sexta-feira, 26 de maio";

FxOS_18-DataUsage_1280x1920_PT:
- "1º de maio" could be "1 de maio"... it looks cleaner;

FxOS_16-Call_Outgoing_1280x1920_PT:
- Alex Cardoso is a male name...

FxOS_14-Email_1280x1920_PT:
- "Viagem semana que vem?" should not have the first question mark.
- "Estamos de mudança!" should not have the first exclamation mark.

FxOS_13-Contacts_1280x1920_PT:
I'm not sure if we should exhibit contacts by their last name... usually, in Brazil, we use the first name. Under the "A", we should have names like "André Martins", "Angela Cardoso", etc...

FxOS_01-Music_Player_1280x1920_PT:
I believe we should remove the "Sanctuary" word from the background image.

Marcelo, thank you for the detailed input.  Could you please put the change requests in the spreadsheet?  Once the project is completed, I will put them all in SVN so there is a permanent home for all the strings, which will be used for future update.

Also we share the spreadsheet with the graphic person.  It is easier to track what's changed and what change is implemented.

I want to confirm with you, as I have checked 1.1 version, that for Brazilian contact list, names are sorted by Given name, not Family name.  Here is the 1.1 screen: https://mozilla.app.box.com/files/0/f/1252198462/1/f_11212763580

If that is the case, on the spread sheet, we should *not* use a comma to separate the given name and family name. So in your case, it should be Marcelo Araldi, *not* Marcelo, Araldi.  By separating family name and given name, it indicates Marcelo is the Family name and Araldi is given name, which is not true in your case.

Now we are clear on this, could you reconsider the contact list you have provided to us: https://docs.google.com/a/mozilla.com/spreadsheets/d/1--aIDyyKhxPER6uniRaNgcixVUq_H6FwOLRADRWBLwg/edit?pli=1#gid=1338176279. 

Another way of thinking of it is, on the World Cup player list for Brazil, is the name sorted by family name, or is it sorted by given name?  

Sorry it takes so long, but we want to do it right by following the correct naming convention for Brazil.  Please confirm so we know how to proceed.

thanks for clarifying it, it was my fault, I just followed spanish spreadsheet because I thought you guys choosed a default format, but, you're right, in Brazil the correct way is "Marcelo Araldi", and not "Araldi, Marcelo" as I first suggested.

I couldn't see the new screen, Box says that I don't have permission for that, but I just updated pt-br spreadsheet with new names in the right format.

On file FxOS_13-Contacts_1280x1920_PT we still have a problem... Under the "A" section we should list names started by "A" we should list people whose first names start by "A", like "Alexandre Dias" or "Aline Ribeiro"...

Can you confirm that the icon "e-mail" on the icon grid screenshots should read "e-mail", the ES team changed it to "correo", I wanted to confirm that in PT it indeed should stay the same.

Hi Flod, the screenshot project is already completed through the traditional process. I copied the strings to .lang.  Once done uploading to SVN, if no issue, you can mark the bug fixed.  Thanks!
