Details

I visited a page which apparently had some Java, and I got a dialog offering to automatically download and install Java 2 from netscape.com. I clicked OK, and after a while it said the install succeeded. Previously it said I needed to restart the browser, so I did File->Quit and restarted Mozilla. However, I immediately got a dialog telling me I had to exit the program to allow the install to complete (I don't remember the exact wording). I thought I had done that. So I killed X and logged out and logged in again and restarted X, and then Mozilla, and immediately got the same dialog again. Running ps showed the following process (now orphaned, i.e. owned by init): jima 1586 1 0 21:54 ? 00:00:00 /home/jima/src/mozilla/xpicleanup Manually killing this process resolved the problem. I am running SuSE 7.2 which comes with Mozilla 0.9.1
