Details
IBM is not planning to support NS6 in Content Manager/EIP v8 (in beta).
The answer I got was that there were Javascript bugs in NS6 that made their
product unusable. They say they were in contact with Netscape, but couldn't
get their problem resolved.
The contact would be John Rodriguez at johnarod@us.ibm.com
This is a big suite of products, it would be nice if there were support for NS.

On the conference call today John said he hasn't been contacted.

This is the email I sent on 9/25/2001.
John,
A Technology Evangelism bug (http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101547)
was recently filed in mozilla.org's bug database Bugzilla stating that due to
"JavaScript Bugs in Netscape 6", IBM would not support Netscape 6.1, Mozilla or
other browsers based upon the Netscape Gecko Layout engine in IBM's Data
Management Suite (http://www.developer.ibm.com/data/). It was also reported in
the bug report that IBM had stated that contact had been made with Netscape but
that IBM could not get their problems resolved.
Can you provide me with details of any such bugs in Netscape 6.1 that cause IBM
to block users of Netscape 6.1 from using it's Data Management web services as
well as information on when and to whom these problems were reported?
I would very much appreciate your help in quickly resolving any issues that you
may have with regard to Netscape 6.1 so that users of Netscape 6.1 as well as
the other browsers based upon the Open Source browser Mozilla will have full
access to your products and services..

Rick, since you have contact with John and he is not responding to my
correspondence, can you ask him to contact me at bclary@netscape.com?

I received a reply from John today:
<quote>
I do not have any knowledge a bugs blocking the use of Netscape, nor
contacts that might.

Rick, can you give more info/contacts on this? Otherwise I will mark as Works
For Me.

During a conference call, the development group said explicitly that NS 6
was not supported for the e-client component. I questioned them, and they
said it was due to Javascript problems and that Netscape couldn't/didn't
help them.
A gentleman by the name of Chris Walker led the e-client presentation.
The slide I have is marked confidential and we have a non-disclosure
agreement, so I don't want to go in to any detail, but the slide states
that IE 5.5 and NS 4.7 is supported, and it also says NOT NS 6.0.

I can't find these specific requirements for the eClient on the website.
Can someone provide a link where to get them?

I think you'll have to get in touch with the development group, as I said in
comment #6 this was stated by them during a beta conference call.
