Details

entering an HTTP URL via the Start menu --> Run dialog generates a "cannot find
file" error, yet the URL still loads in the browser. If it is an FTP URL, it
does not produce the error.

was able to reproduce it on windows 2000 proffesional and on windows ME with
Build ID 2001092603
true this generates an error, but it is a MS windows bug, not mozilla. if you
try using http://www.anydotcom.com if you just type www.anydotcom.com no error.
I would say invalid bug. it doesn't like the http:// - complain to MS.
Not totally true, cuz i get the error without http:// too and it works in IE.
Before I installed Mozilla, I was able to use both http://www.domain.com and
www.domain.com in the Start -> Run dialog box, and have the browswer
successfully launch all versions of IE (whichever was default at the time).

After installing Mozilla, I can no longer use http://www.domain.com OR
www.domain.com to successfully launch my default browser (which is now Mozilla).
IE must return some command back to the OS telling it the operations was
successful that Mozilla doesn't yet return.

Latest build, 20011126, still produces same error. Site even opens correctly in
browser window, but error message pops up anyway :

"Cannot find the file 'http://www.mozilla.org/' (or one of its components).
Please make sure the path and filename are correct and that all required
libraries are available."

Please note that whether I type http://www.mozilla.org or www.mozilla.org in the
Run dialog, the same error is produced.
