Hi, Im running LDAP Addressbook for Netscape 4.x clients on OpenLDAP 1.x. Its working well. Now, I did the same setup for MOZILLA 0.9.4 clients on OpenLDAP 2.0.11. And the autocompletation of recipients email address doesnt work in email client. I did run tcpdump to show the communication between mozilla and ldap server and it help me to found core of problems. First problem: OpenLDAP 2.0.11 is LDAPv3 compliant. It stores all strings containing non-ascii (international) characters in UTF-8. Commandline tools like ldapsearch, ldapmodify works fine for me if I uses UTF-8 strings. So there is no problem on database or server. Mozilla sends queries to server where the strings with i18l characters are not recoded to UTF-8, so server returns empty results. Second problem: If query contains only part of string with ascii chars only, server returns all matching results with i18n chars correctly but Mozilla is not able to display it. BTW, on MS Windoze Mozilla 0.9.4 querying doesnt work too, but Mozilla is able display results vell. My friend did verify it. Im running testing database on server: r00k.fce.vutbrn.cz port 389 ou=abook,dc=twr,dc=cz Additional info and test on request. Thanks Petr
Sorry for mistypo, right address of server is: r00k.fce.vutbr.cz port 389 ou=abook,dc=twr,dc=cz To view all tree run: ldapsearch -x -h r00k.fce.vutbr.cz -b "ou=abook,dc=twr,dc=cz" objectclass=*
I suspect this is a DUP of 100645, which was recently fixed. Can you try a recent nightly build and see if you still have this problem.

QA contact to myself if olgac doesn't mind.

I tried Kristof's ldap server with 10/03 0.9.4 build. It works fine.
Working better with build 2001/10/5, but still not perfect. Maybe there is another hidden bug. Im need more days to extensive testing.
Working right on Linux 0.9.5. Not sure, if is it duplicated bug, but we can mark it as fixed. Thanks Petr
