Details

From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:0.9.4) Gecko/20010913 BuildID: 2001091303 To reproduce the bug, do the following(when u r in the new message window): 1. Place the cursor in the body part of the message. 2. Change your font type from variable with(default) to any one of the HTML fonts, ie, Times, Helivitca/Arial or Courier from the toolbar. 3. Type something. 4. hitt enter 2 times. 5. ON the new line type something, just make sure you type at least two words(a space between the words is required). 6. Press the 'home' key and then select the first word you type on this line. then press CTRL+b to bold the word. you will notice that the word will appear twice. the bolded word first and then the regular word. If you press CTRL+b again the whole message text dissapears! Undo it to get it back. Sometimes the undo /redo thing does not work correctly, but I believe that is already a reported bug. I noticed other bugs too while trying to figure out the exact scenerio to reproduce this bug. Again, the font needs to be what i mentioned earlier. For eg, 1. type one line 2. press enter twice 3. type two words minimum. 4. Then select the last word. 5. press CTRL+b once. 6. Sometimes the bold works, but if you repeatedly press CTRL+b, you will notice some wierd behavior, similar to the one I reported in the first bug. This bug seems to be a variation of that. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: see description... 1. 2. 3. Actual Results: bold feature produces repeated words. Expected Results: just bold the word

This problem is a dup of bug 98544, which was dup'd to bug 84645 (whose summary sounds totally unrelated, but was caused by the same problem) which was fixed on the trunk by waterson. The fix in 84645 will not be checked into the MOZILLA_0_9_4_BRANCH. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 84645 ***
