From bug 1005210,

STR. 
1. turn on geolocation in the settings
2. launch the camera app
3. accept the geolocation share settings for the camera app ( if you already opened it, check in the settings -> app permissions -> camera to make sure you granted permission, then go back to the camera app

Expected: some indication that the geolocation is ready to be used
Actual : no indication that the geolocation is ready to be used; if the geolocation is not ready, then the pictures will not have the location in the metadata

Note: it would be nice to have the geolocation icon change colors like red for not ready to green for ready.  Not sure where it would be placed for camera.

This seems to be related to this Bug 1017905. 

I also agree with the expected result mentioned above and the additional indication the location has failed. It's definitely something on my radar!
