From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:0.9.4) Gecko/20010913 BuildID: 2001091303 On doing any google search, results come back at once, but every browser instance is locked (no scroll, mouse cursor doesn't change on move) for about ten seconds. CPU is at 100% during this. This behaviour is not observed doing the same searches with IE. I've been using mozilla as my main browser for a bit - this behaviour seems new with 0.9.4. I haven't seen it on any other sites. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: do a google search, either from the toolbar slot, or the text box on the google home page. Actual Results: results displayed mozilla locks for 10 (ish) seconds mozilla unlocks Expected Results: results displayed and browser available immediately. Running on a dual processor box (ABIT BP6 based). Not observed running mozilla 0.9.4 on linux on a different machine. My google preferences are set to 50 results per search
OK, it's a virtual memory thing - Mozilla'd been running for a few days and is taking 155Mb to show four windows! Problem is cleared by restarting M. Strange that this only affects google!
Reporter: Are you still seeing this problem with a more recent build? http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/nightly/latest/mozilla-win32-talkback.zip As far as the memory leaks, that's a known problem -- just check out the keyword "mlk": http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cgi?keywords=mlk
<Asa> caillon: I think that 102223 is probably a dupe of the "long buglists hang browser" bug I filed. <caillon> Asa: bug 77460 ? <Asa> caillon: yep. it has to do with populating the sidebar search results. It's a problem for long search results for any engines we have as search plugins. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 77460 ***
