The FakeUpdateChecker was added after we branched v1.3. Now we've created branched versions of the Marionette client and gaiatest, we will need to uplift these changes to prevent the update notifications from appearing on devices running v1.3.

I'm currently unable to replicate the update notifications on my Tarako so am unable to test this. I'm sure I saw these when I was running Eideticker tests at home, so I'll leave the needinfo? and try again later.

I'm still unable to replicate this. Going to close as WONTFIX for now. If we see these update notifications in the Eideticker results then we can reopen this.
