Web Runtime Apps Day presentation
>>Project/Request Title: Web Runtime Apps Day presentation >>Project Overview: I'm giving a 3-5 minute Speed Geeking presentation at next week's Apps Day (two-day meeting of entire Marketplace division), and I'd like to record a video version of it for folks who can't make it to the meeting in person. My plan is to show some narrated slides (possibly accompanied by my talking head) followed by a shot of a device running an app that then zooms out to show a bunch of devices, in all three major form factors (phone, tablet, and laptop), all running the same app. >> Creative Help Needed: Copy: No Design: No Video: Yes Other: No >>Creative Specs: The final deliverable is a 3-5 minute video that should be delivered in whatever video format is ideal for distribution to other employee Mozillians. >>CTA and Design: Presentation Outline: What The Web Runtime project brings Open Web Apps to multiple platforms. Rainer, it looks great! Nice, concise editing means there's nothing extraneous. Let's ship it!
John Slater had 2 good points when he watch it .... a title slide would be good (can you come up with one?) .... An intro slide always helps add context ... and I did some changes to be on brand with the font and some animations.... let me know what you think .... http://youtu.be/APtRkT5SJAk
Being on-brand is great, and the animations look much nicer than mine! I added a title slide and changed to Open Sans in my Keynote original, although I haven't yet changed the animations, as I'm not skilled in the ways of Keynote, so that'd take a bit longer. Check out this version and let me know if I should make any additional changes (or feel free to make them yourself!): https://people.mozilla.org/~myk/presentations/WebRuntime.key.zip
And here's the script I promised you: The Web Runtime project brings Open Web Apps to multiple platforms. It's built into Firefox, so it works wherever Firefox does: Android, Windows, Mac, and Linux. And it's designed to make Open Web Apps look and feel like native apps. Users benefit from that native integration, and from portability. Because they can use apps on the devices they already own. And developers gain access to many more potential users. Hundreds of millions of Firefox desktop users. And tens of millions of Firefox users on Android. Finally, the runtime gives Mozilla an opportunity to demonstrate the capabilities and competitiveness of HTML 5 and the Open Web. Here's an example of a popular game, x-type, running on a Firefox OS phone. The runtime enables that game to run on Android phones, tablets, and laptops. Go to the Firefox Marketplace and try an app today! Really. I mean it.
Rainer, can you provide me with an MP4 version of the video?

Rainer provided me the video, and we distributed it to Apps Day invitees, so I think this is all done!
