Details
When starting Mail & News, all news servers are accessed for new articles. On a
server with login the first group in the list is never updated. You always have
to access this group by hand to find new articles.
What build are you using?

Marking these all WORKSFORME sorry about lack of response but were very
overloaded here. Only reopen the bug if you can reproduce with the following steps:
1) Download the latest nightly (or 0.9.6 which should be out RSN)
2) Create a new profile
3) test the bug again
If it still occurs go ahead and reopen the bug. Again sorry about no response
were quite overloaded here and understaffed.

This is INVALID, now. We don't update unread counts on startup, only on
expansion of the twisties, which by default are collapsed.

With the new way it works. If you expand the first group is read. Can someone
set this bug to fixed?
pi
worksforme. the bug with the patch has already been fixed and verified, no need
to re-open this for anything.

I have to correct myself. With the new method, the first group on a server with
login is not read, at least the first time you expand the server. Should we
reopen this bug or should I make a new one?
pi
new bug, please. thanks.
The NNTP server in question is news.randori.com, using authenticated NNTP.
Server info:
200 Randori News Inc. -- http://www.randori.com/ (Typhoon v2.0.0)
Mozilla version 1.0rc3
Re-opening, from bug 148447...
When Mozilla is initializing the count of unread messages in each newsgroup, it
ignores the first newsgroup. The first newsgroup's name is greyed out, no unread
message count is listed, and no subject headers are displayed. The second->last
newsgroups have their name in boldface, and a message count is listed. A
mouseclick on the first newsgroup causes the unread message count and message
headers to be displayed normally. This occurs each and every time the newsgroup
reader is started up, even if started/quit/restarted multiple times during a
single execution of Mozilla.

Stephen, I do not understand. This bug was marked WFM not because the problem
went away, but because the way server are called changed.
We are looking at the newly submitted bug 111855 (for which you asked in comment
8). Hence I'll dupe this one.
