From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.4+) Gecko/20010929
BuildID: 2001-09-29-21
The context menu when right-clicking on the URL bar gets stuck and won't go away
until one of the options are selected.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.go to any website e.g. http://www.mozilla.org
2.double-click on the URL to hi-light it.
3.right-click once and wait at least 1/2 second.
4.Right-click once more and notice that the context menu is stuck and won't go
away until one of the options is selected.
Actual Results: the context menu is displayed and won't go away until something
from the menu is selected i.e. copy, paste, cut.
Expected Results: I'm not sure what the masses will agree on by when I
double-clicked on the URL (step 2) I expected it to be hi-lighted only. In
linux the search part of the URL is activated which is OK. But when I
right-clicked on the URL (step 3) the context menu should have appeared and the
search part disapear. If I right-click again the context menu should disappear.
The context menu should definitely not be stuck - that probably the most
important thing to fix.

works for me, context menu does not get stuck. gnome/enlightenment wm.
This is possibly specific to the windowmanager and/or wm settings. What
are you running.

I upgraded to RedHat 7.1 2 weeks ago and I don't seem to have the problem. I am
also using the later builds so I'm not sure what has exactly happened. I tried,
unsuccessfully, to find the build from 29 Sep 2001 to verify if the problem was
gnome or mozilla. I'll close this bug for now.

I have this problem, though when right-clicking within a page (not the URL bar), on Windows (8.1). Firefox 48.0.1.
I just encountered this for the past 2 days myself
Arch Linux
Firefox 48.0.2
Cinnamon Desktop
HP Elitebook 2570p

I haven't had this particular problem for a while. I started having other weird problems in mozilla. In the end I created a new profile in seamonkey and all my issues went away

I had this issue. I was going to reinstall Firefox and see the `Refresh Firefox` button on https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/, clicked the button, wait for a few seconds, the issue is gone.
