Details

The code changes for 97676 defer to LaunchServices for automatic helper app launching under OS X rather than using the IC helper app mappings. This is due to the apparent improper data being returned from IC resulting in an error trying to resolve the FSSpec to the helper file (even for non-packaged helper apps). Why this is happening needs to be determined and a more suitable/permanent workaround found. That the only way to edit IC settings under OS X currently appears to be with IE is a further complication.
