Details
When USB tethering has been turned on, it will automatically disconnect when the screen goes off. As given by Dave Hylands on bug 915974 comment 52 this should not happen. But I can still see this with the latest v1.4.

Just fyi as I was testing this with 2.0, I am not able to reproduce this with today's (06/16) buri build with comm ril:
