While the HTML spec is loading, Firefox is so unresponsive that Mac OS gives me a beachball. Even once the beachball goes away, we're still talking only 1fps or less in terms of user interaction responsiveness (e.g. scrolling or interacting with the menus). Once the spec is loaded, performance is fine. Great, even. Silky smooth.
We need e10s for this, but better interruptiveness for the reflow could help too.
