Searching bugzilla revealed no hits, I can't believe this isn't already reported (I'm sure I've missed it...) I start Mail, it opens nearly full screen. I'm able to resize it, but every time I close the window and re-open it, it re-opens full screen again. This is EXTREMELY annoying (as most cosmetic bugs are), enough to stop using it until it's fixed. Thanks!

There was another bug, which has since been fixed, that could cause mail to get stuck in maximized mode. That might have been the cause of these problems. See bug 103031 and bug 103771. The following comment is from bug 103771: ------- Additional Comments From sdagley@netscape.com 2001-10-08 18:24 ------- Yepperoonie, that repro case works for me. Even worse, should you manually resize the now maximized window rather than clicking the zoom widget when you quit and run again you'll get new windows maximized by default. The workaround is to edit localstore.rdf for the affected profile and change the sizemode property for the main window from maximize to normal (or just use the zoom widget to resize the window to something smaller, quit and run again)
Probably yet another localstore.rdf bug. Sigh.

Now that 103031 has been fixed and we should no longer be able to accidentaly maximize windows is this bug still valid?
marking fixed per steve's comments. if that's not the case and this is still repro-able, please reopen.

This is most certainly still an issue. The problem is that a window (not just mail/news; see bug 107937) once maximized, stay that way even if they get resized. The next time you open a new navigator window, the window will maximize itself again. It will keep maximizing itself, even if it's resized, until you hit the zoom button again. Please reopen. Also, it's not MailNews specific, it affects browser windows too.
Oh, and I just reproed this on Mac OS X build 2002012908.

I see is also on 9.1, build 02-04-2002 - Comment 2 is still valid.

This bug is on the list of Mac bugs identified as significant enough to merit fixing for MachV - adding nsbeta1 keyword. That said - this bug is definitely related to #107937 which is fixed as of the 2002-02-10 builds. Can we re-test with a newer build to verify if fixes this?
Keywords: nsbeta1
This bug in no longer reproducible. Tested on OS X with build 021708.
Thanks for the update Nick. Closing as FIXED.

Well, if you're going to be exact about it, this bug and bug 107937 are duplicates. So that would probably be a more accurate resolution.
