Devices: Acer Iconia A500 & ALcatel One touch OS: Android 3.2.1 & Android 4.1.2 Steps: 1. Go to youtube.com 2. Tap the menu -> Page 3. Look at Add a search engine or Subscribe to page Actual Results: - the options are grayed out Expected Results: - you should be able to add the search engine or subscribe to page Note: - requesting desktop version for the page enables the options and you can add the search engine and you can subscribe - log tapping on search in mobile version and choose from there to add search engine will work fine. - sites tested: youtube, gsp.ro, nytimes, bbc.com, imdb - sites like BMO, support, wiki.mo work fine
A quick look in nytimes and bbc shows that the mobile sites do not have any OpenSearch or Feeds listed in the <head> so the Fennec menus should be gray. The nytimes desktop site does have a Feed, so the "subscribe" menu becomes active. I don't think anything is broken. You can use remote debugging to inspect the HTML loaded into Fennec from Firefox Desktop. I just looked in the <head> section since that's the most common place to see the <link> tags for OpenSearch and Feeds.
