User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:30.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/30.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20140605174243 Steps to reproduce: Click and highlight a selection of text. Press the toolbar Print button starting with Firefox 29 and the Print Preview window opens. Hit the Print button on the Preview toolbar - upper-left. The "native print dialog" window opens and Selection is not available to use. Actual results: The highlighted selection is lost when passing thru the Print Preview window. There is no way to print a selection of text when using the Print toolbar button, where previously the Print button opened the "native print dialog" and Selection was available for printing a highlighted selection of the web page. Expected results: The user should be able to print a selection of text with the Print toolbar button as was possible prior to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=868586
I confirm this. (Sorry Ed I never bothered trying to get edit privileges so can not change bug status myself) I tested in Linux (Ubuntu 12.04 LTS) I used both a Mozilla and a Ubuntu Canonical Build (Fx32 & Fx31 respectively) Using New Menu Button -> Print Icon -> Print Button, agreed as #c0 above. No option to print selection, the button is greyed out. (I realise this is not the only method of initiating printing. See also related support.mozilla contributors discussion thread https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/forums/contributors/710442 ) I imagine the same issue will be seen in Windows 7. I will check that in a few hours time.
