Mozilla hangs when changing to another newsgroup by pressing space in a newsgroup with no unread messages. The whole UI just stops. This does not seem to happen with all servers, but it happens while changing group in news.mozilla.org (at least changing from n.p.m.seamonkey to n.p.m.mail-news). I haven't seem this with older builds, now running 2001100903.
Do you get a pop-up alert asking you if you want to advance to another newsgroup? You should. It could be that this is waiting for acknowledgement and is hidden behind a window? similar, ref bug 97466.

At least once it hung after the dialog was dismissed. The other time it seemed to hang before the dialog.
It hung on me again. This time definitely before seeing the dialog about advancing to next newsgroup. Does not feel like a hidden dialog/popup because Windows says the program is not responding and the mail-news window seems to still have focus, although nothing works.
Could it have something to do with the new system that advances to the next newsgroup in the order they are displayed in the tree? I think I didn't have these problems before that. It happens at least now always before displaying the popup about advancing to next newsgroup. And reading Mozilla groups, it happens all the time.
Hmm.. I guess I should have done this in the first place, but anyway, the problem seems to be gone now that I deleted news.mozilla.org, the associated files and recreated it. So, WFM now.
