I don't know where these add-ons are coming from, but they all have *very* steep usage rises, and almost all instances are enabled. The add-ons are not marked as foreign installs, but I suspect that that's what they are in any case. They use multiple IDs which, between them, have several million users:

sitematcher@sitematcher.com
sitematcher_src@sitematcher_src.com
sitematcherpro@sitematcherpro.com

sitematchersitesrc@sitematchersitesrc.com
Alas, people have the annoying habit of not linking to real malware installers, but this seems to confirm that this is a malicious side-install: http://www.freefixer.com/b/what-is-site-matcher-pro-removal-instructions/

Hello
I hope everyone believes the saying the only dumb question is the one you don't ask! I'm a physician, just not a techno one as so many of the new physicians today who seem to know their way around a computer almost as well as they can diagnose a patient! There may be hope for me but since I'm not quite there yet I'd like to ask is there some way to prevent this from happening? I don't use many add-on's but those I do use are also used by a great many users & seem safe according to all the information I was able to find on them from Google & Norton. I don't install or enable any add-on I have not Googled to see if there is any potential problems associated with that add-on as well as did a scan with Norton security suite prior to installing. I think the last one I added was Adblock Plus as well as User Agent Overrider & Webutation. When you mentioned malware software can you recommend some good security for Adware, malware, spyware and any other kind of evilware out there? I keep up on the security programs I am aware of since I don't want to have problems with my computer which I am finally starting to enjoy & will probably do so even more particularly now I am finding more & more things I really like about using a computer.
Thank you for any help you can offer,
Aylagh
My recommendation is that you only install add-ons from addons.mozilla.org and avoid installing software from unknown publishers. If you ended up installing one of these extensions, it's likely that you got them by installing some software that included them without notifying you or giving you a clear choice.
