I strongly believe that we must provide a functionality to help users recover their account info & passwords using their email address.

Currently Users can only retrieve back their account info through their username only.

Lets be nice to add it so that atleast users not be hassled to approach outside the Mozilla world[1](just found it on Quora).

This is not a feature we can easily implement because it is not how Mediawiki (the software that powers Mozilla Wiki) is designed to work. Mediawiki itself does not require that users provide email addresses in order to create accounts, so having a 'recovery by email' option does not make sense. 

In order to reduce spam, we have installed extensions that require the user to provide an email. Unfortunately those extensions do not also provide the ability to recover your username by email. 

I realize this will be inconvenient for some users. For that I apologize. However, this is something we have the resources to address right now.

I am closing this bug for the time being. We can revisit this issue later as we complete work in other critical areas.

I think we do have the email address field in the table[1]. All we need to do is write an extension that can do this thing.

This is probably doable at some point (perhaps not now). Reopening to keep it on the radar.
