Getting a development environment working is the first step in contributing to fjord/Input development. As such, it's pretty critical that the instructions are rock-solid and work on a variety of platforms.
I've tested it on a couple of distributions of Linux. It's been tested on Mac OSX, too.
This bug covers testing the instructions on Windows and making any necessary changes to make the instructions better and/or easier to follow.

Marking this bug as mentorable.
If you're using Windows and you have some experience with VirtualBox, Vagrant and/or git, then this bug could be for you! If you haven't done this kind of work before, then this bug might be difficult especially if you run into problems because it'll be hard for me to help.
If you're interested in working on this bug, let me know either in the bug comments or on IRC (I'm willkg).

I was able to create a dev environment on Windows using Vagrant and Virtualbox following the instructions given in the getting started guide and had no issues. I will shortly describe the steps that I followed to get it done.

I tried out the instructions in the "Getting Started" section on a Windows 7 machine and it did work fine. So @willkg, maybe we can go ahead and mark this as resolved.
