While arguably the command should only affect the status, it's still unexpected behaviour that currently it appears to do nothing in that case.
On further examination, it actually does reconnect immediately if a reconnect timer is running. It appears to do nothing only when we are stuck on "connecting...". In this case there is little we can do about it however.
