User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:31.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/31.0 (Beta/Release) Build ID: 20140716183446 Steps to reproduce: 1. Logged-in to my internet website (SSL) with a session cookie written (by Java servlet, with secure flag, not HTTPOnly) to the browser using either version Firefox 31 and 32 (beta now). 2. When inputting data in my website, I open a new tab and go to any other SSL enabled website. Actual results: One of my session cookie was lost in the original tab, and it cause problems because some features are missing. Expected results: My cookie should still be stored in the browser. It did not happen in previous Firefox version, and other browsers like Chrome, IE.
It has problem even opening tab (either Ctrl+T or click +) for non SSL enabled websites.
Summary: One of my cookie lost when opening SSL site in new tab → One of my cookie lost when opening site in new tab
Problem exist when using either Ctrl+T or clicking + plus sign.
Do you have any extensions installed? Please try safe mode to check if it's because of extensions or settings: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

If the cookie is removed, my users are getting problem when using my website!

hello. I have this exact same issue. I have a website with a session cookie and a second website with a completely different domain, using the same cookie name. when I open the first page, open a new tab and load the second page, the first tab will loose the cookie. once I close the second tab, the first tab will stop loosing this very cookie. all other session cookies are not lost. firefox version 50.0 I already tried to reset firefox and deleted all caches and cookies but no luck. it is always reproducable

Hi Paul, Would you mind to offer me the websites which occurred this problem? Thanks!

hi amy, you can reproduce it with these steps on our website: - go to zattoo.com/signup to create a free account because you need to be logged in - open zattoo.com in one tab, log in and start to watch a channel - open zattoo.com again in a second tab and start to watch another channel - go back to the first tab and try to watch a different channel the app will report http error 403 in the first tab because opening the second tab somehow made the first tab lose the session cookie "beaker.session.id" which is needed for our service to work. our service is not available in all countries. if possible it would be good if you could log in from a ip which is based in switzerland, germany, uk, spain or denmark. best, paul

Hi Paul, I found I can't reproduce the situations from your steps, would you confirm the number of cookie on zattoo.com? If the number of cookies is more than 165 cookies on zattoo.com, your situation is related to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1319403 and https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1264192. Would you try to delete all cookies from zattoo.com and confirm the situation still occurs? Thanks!

hi amy, the number of cookies should be around 12 but never much more than that. I tried to delete all cookies and the cache, I also reset firefox entirely with the safe mode option but I could still reproduce it consistently

Hi Paul, Would you open the http log and get log when you reproduce the situation of bug? The steps of opening http log as below : [MAC or Linux] 1. export NSPR_LOG_FILE=~/Desktop/cookies-log.txt 2. export NSPR_LOG_MODULES=cookie:4 3. run Firefox by typing "./firefox-bin" and pressing Return [Windows] 1. cd c:\ 2. set MOZ_LOG=timestamp,rotate:200,cookie:4 3. set MOZ_LOG_FILE=%TEMP%\log.txt 4. cd "Program Files\Mozilla Firefox" 5. .\firefox.exe If you have any questions about http logging, you would reference https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Debugging/HTTP_logging. Thanks!

Hi Paul, I found I can reproduce on firefox 50 but I can't reproduce on nightly 52. Because the situation of bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1264192 seems like your problem. In my view, you would try nightly 52 and confirm your problem which would occur on nightly 52. download link: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/nightly/all/?q=English%20(US)

Hi Amy / Paul, Could you please provide the steps you followed to reproduce this issue? We are seeing this issue as well on our site. Customer complaints started on Nov 18th which is 3 days after Firefox 50 release. All the affected customer were using Firefox 50. Thanks RV
Hi RV, You can follow https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1047231#c9 to reproduce this issue, and would you mind confirm the problem which already be fixed on 53.0a1 nightly? Thanks!
