Details

This bug is a minor annoyance, and being a new user, it may already be known.
If i load mozilla before connecting to the internet via a ppp client, I
obviously get an error stating that mozilla.org or any other start up page is
unable to be contacted. However, assuming I keep the same mozilla window open,
and then connect to the internet, I get the same error when loading any page. a
workaround for this problem is to choose to work offline, and then choose to
workonline. then mozilla can once again surf the web.

here is a replication scenario:
1. load mozilla with no internet connection
2. connect to the internet via a ppp connection
3. try to surf any web page via the already opened mozilla window.

I haven't tested this bug on 0.95, so it may be fixed in this build, but the
error does appear in 0.94.
Dupe of bug 63564, which is marked WONTFIX. This is cached by libc; going
offline and then online is the only workarround, although I wasn't aware that
that code had been hooked up yet. Hmm.

Also see bug 64857, which has a suggestion of a fix for this, but again, it
would only be toggled on going online, since we have to ask libc to do this change.

I assume Breadley meant that clicking the offline/online icon in the browser is
a workaround. You can reconnect 1000 times to the Internet without a running
mozilla detecting it.
