No practicable way to open additional mailnews windows

There doesnt seem to be a practicable way to open additional mailnews windows
without loosing the current view. This certainly was possible in 4.x
Now rpessing the little mail envelope icon will only raise the current
mailnews window, and File -> New doesnt allow this either. The only
way seems to be to double click an entry (mail fodler, news group) in the
window showing the folder tree, but this will also change the current
window's content. It is a pity that there is no context menu for
the right mouse button that wouldnt also imply a left-click.
This would allow actions to be carried out without interrupting work
in the current window.
Given that this worked in 4.x I think this is a normal bug and not an RFE.
