This can be reproduced on 0.94 and 0.95 (earlier builds not tested). JRE13i is
installed, the NPOJI600.dll is in the Mozilla plugin directory. The applet
starts with MS Internet Explorer 5.5 and Netscape 4.7.
I'm working behind a Firewall and use a proxy. The preferences of Mozilla,
Netscape and IE are the same.
Some Applets are running on Mozilla (like Oracle8i Generic Documentation - the
applet starts in a separate window) the most Applets cannot start (s.u.
"notinitiated"). If an applet starts or not depends NOT to go thru the firewall.

(Please excuse my bad english).
The above testcase loads fine for me in W2K, with 0.9.4 and JRE 1.3.1 over a
direct network connection.

Peter,
sorry, I'm not able to test this with a direct network connection (the Company,
where I'm working does not allow this) and at home i've no Windows OP system.
A short time before the "Applet not initiated" message comes up, for less than
halve a second another long message flickers on the bottom line - but i'm not
able to read that.
Notes : With other browser i dont have that problem.
Most Applets i use in the Intranet (no firewall between) makes the same
        trouble.
Reporter: Can you choose Tasks | Tools | Java Console and paste in here any errors?

pmac: Do you remember what the hostname and port of our internal test 56k
simulation Proxy? Could you test out the latest trunk build on this bug? Thanks!
The latest build on the trunk is (2001-10-18-06-trunk), and it works fine on my
windows 98 though. The applet javaclock loads fine.
Perter, I don't know the hostname & port of our internal test 56k simulation proxy.

proxy: tegu.mozilla.org
ports: 3026 - 3030
login: cvs username and password
Work for me via proxy on Linux and jre1.3.1.
Tested on Win98 and WinNT with direct connection and with proxy. JRE 1.3.1 and
1.4.0B3. Applet works fine.
The end of it.
Our Firewall filters all Java incoming when it is not for Netscape or I.E....sh...
