Flame, nightly

When you bookmark something, it is immediate. The star lights up, boom you're done.

When you bookmark something to the Homescreen, you get a bottom-screen-banner saying it was bookmarked, then there's a pause, then the whole bookmark screen animates away.

The overall feel is slow. If we're going to animate, it should happen immediately after the user interaction has completed, giving a feeling of instantness.

Flagging Kevin. Kevin, is this related to performance (of the sort Etienne has improved along the way) or to build size/memory issues again? Let me know if you can dig in.

Nothing related specifically to build size or memory, this is a problem with the bookmark app. This is definitely something that we can make better - we just need it prioritized.

My guess is that currently the bookmark app shows the banner instead of the system? If this is happening, we could show the banner in the system app and hide the bookmarks activity instantly.

It's probably worth sending this through the performance triage, so adding the keyword that should trigger that.
