User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Android; Mobile; rv:31.0) Gecko/31.0 Firefox/31.0 (Nightly/Aurora) Build ID: 20140717124120 Steps to reproduce: I use the browser daily and every time I switch to other app without closing the Firefox the data loaded in browser will be lost, after I switch back again to Firefox the page has to reload completely again. Actual results: The page reloads every time you minimise. Expected results: The loaded data should not be lost after minimising, should return to same state after switching the app.

Which device is this, which version of Android? Android will discard anything in the background to reclaim needed memory when needed. This is what is happening. Typically this happens on memory starved older devices.

I've seen this too on my personal phone Nexus 4 (Android 5.0.1) on a WI-fi connection with a large sync profile and lots of tabs opened. The same scenario from the description. I am using Nightly daily and every time I've switched to another app: facebook, instagram, leaving Nightly in background, after returning, the latest page opened, reloads. I've seen this a lot lately.

I see the same happen on my phone. I have a Sony Xperia Z5 compact, running Android 6.0.1 As far as I'm concerned this is more of a feature request than a bug; but it is a necessary feature in order to keep up with the competition. Both chrome and dolphin appear to save the page data and perfectly retain my position within the page, which Firefox fails to do.

I don't believe that this is related to memory-starvation. I have an XPeria X with everything turned to 11 and the latest Android, and Firefox will arbitrarily reload the page when doing nothing more switching between apps (it also does it when switching between tabs, which drives me nuts). My workaround is to switch on the reader mode systematically when available. It still reloads (and loses the scroll position), and it imposes its style sheet but at least it makes Firefox a lot less offline-hostile.

I've also experienced this while browsing with ~10-15 tabs opened, on a Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro(Android 5.1.1), with 3GB RAM, on Beta 59. Also could reproduce with these devices on the latest Nightly 60.0a1 (2018-02-08): HTC 10 (Android 7.0.1) Huawei Honor 5X (Android 5.1.1) Only 2-4 apps opened in the background, and max 10 tabs in Fennec. Leave the phone idle for a few minutes and try again.
