Details
As of a few days ago, the 'cmd-t' shortcut (and I think ctrl-t on Linux) to open a new tab has stopped working when the current tab is the Twitter app. On my mac the File menu flashes, but no new tab is opened. This is really confusing and disruptive.
If Twitter is somehow stealing the event we should work with them to stop it. But then why the menu flash?
Regardless, I think web content is being able to filter 'cmd' key shortcuts is a serious bug in the Mac case, where there's a clear division of those being specific to the gui application (browser chrome) and not any context interior to that application, the way ctrl is sometimes used.

FWIW, chrome prevents *some* but not *all* shortcuts, and gets bugreports and associated abuse from web devs instead of abuse from users (see the bug I'm about to dupe this to for some prime examples).
Twitter are working to correct this particular issue. We've logged a separate fx-backlog bug to see if we can do something on the frontend without having to change how the core logic works.
