Sometimes, it can be useful to get a visual overview of your bookmarks. So it'd be nice to get a grid view with thumbnails. The current list view buries your bookmarks inside the library which is quite a bummer, your bookmarks don't really stand out. I think we should do something like Opera's new bookmarking feature, which allows you to pick a thumbnail for your bookmark, and use a list view if you don't want big thumbnails : http://www-static.opera.com/blogs/multi/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2014/08/bookmark_add2.png Google stars, the leaked Google Chrome online bookmarking service, also provides something similar : http://www.omgchrome.com/google-stars-is-new-chrome-bookmark-extension/ By doing this, we'll of course move the Library in-content (instead of the current window).

This idea is similar to one that we explored in pancake and two summers ago in the save-for-later research (https://blog.mozilla.org/ux/2012/10/save-for-later/). We have a good deal of data from the user types study and the more recent enhanced tiles study about users' mental models of bookmarks, how they use them, and why they use them in that manner. I would be able to consolidate this data and reexplore it if others are interested.
This bug by itself is not useful, we need clear design directions from UX to do something like this.
