Firefox for Android version 31 Samsung Note 3 Steps to reproduce: #Visit a webpage with an image example: [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenix_%28mythology%29#mediaviewer/File:Phoenix-Fabelwesen.jpg] #Long tap, swipe to image and tap on "Save Image" # Save it in Photos or Gallery #Visit the image # Go back to Firefox and tap on Settings > Privacy > Clear Private Data # Select Downloads and Offline Data or just one and clear cache. # Open downloaded image in gallery and see unsupported image. Screenshot attached. Reproducible, always.
Firefox deletes downloaded files when clearing private data. This app is likely caching the thumbnails.
OS: Mac OS X → Android
Hardware: x86 → ARM
Usually Android restart is required or clearing the gallery cache fixes this. Typical Android.
Closing this as this is the expected behavior. We can't predict what apps will do when the files are removed.
