What can I do while in Airplane Mode? You may continue to use Firefox OS while in Airplane Mode. You can also turn on Wi-fi and Bluetooth while in Airplane Mode as well. Using the wireless connectivity functions during airplane mode will display an error. - From https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-use-airplane-mode-firefox-os I guess you are referring to Wi-Fi, right?

This is the expected result. We do want to be able to turn on WiFi connectivity while in airplane mode if we just want to disable celluar mobile connection.
Not a bug.
