Type in any app (search, email). Keyboard is very slow and unresponsive. Sometimes characters and typing do not appear at all, or for up to 10 seconds of counting. A single key bubble may also display for the count of one full second or more. This was not observed on yesterday's or earlier 2.1 builds.

This bug repro's on: Flame 2.2 Actual Results: Some noticable lag when typing on the keyboard in various apps. Lag in Vibration for the keyboard, letters appearing when typing and also how long the blue letter highlight stays visable. Repro Rate: 3/5 because not every letter feels laggy. Just happens randomly it seems. nomming - very bad UX - off-putting and confusing to the user who is used to quicker vibration feedback

I attempted to find a Regression Window for this issue. However, I could not determine when exactly the keyboard was "slow and unresponsive". I tested this issue against various apps such as: Search Bar, Browser, Messages.
Triage: regression, blocking.
blocking-b2g: 2.2? → 2.2+
Summary: [Keyboard] [Flame] [2.1] Keyboard slow and unresponsive. → [Keyboard] [Flame] [2.2] Keyboard slow and unresponsive.
I was able to sort of reproduce this bug on an earlier master build on 9/5. Keyboard typing feels a bit laggy over the Rocketbar/Browser URL field. Device: Flame 2.2 Master BuildID: 20140905164502 Gaia: c7de02ef1e0ad97d86e5bbef2d19828a236aea27 Gecko: 6e0f9dfa7ca5 Version: 35.0a1 (2.2 Master) Firmware: V180 User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Mobile; rv:35.0) Gecko/35.0 Firefox/35.0 --------------------- On latest master build the issue doesn't seem to be as noticeable as before. Typing on Rocketbar seems smooth enough. The fact that the device tries to search local apps as the user types could sometimes cause a bit of slowdown but not enough to cause adverse effects. Stephany - this is reported to be much better in the latest builds - would you mind checking it in the latest to see if you feel this issue is resolved?
Flags: needinfo?(jmitchell) → needinfo?(swilkes)
