We need to email the 5,000+ people who have pledged to teach the web with the teaching materials we've been preparing for them.

This work is almost ready but needs to be shipped so that we can send the email.

I thought a bug might help rally the final efforts here :)

----

1) The content is very nearly ready. Let's push the final 5% of this across the finish line:
https://foundation.etherpad.mozilla.org/wmuserstory

2) The badge-claim CTA was missing so I've added a suggestion for this into the pad. This is our main route to counting this contribution.

3) Where are these 3 asks going to live? Published as thimble URLs?

4) Is the email copy complete? It looks good to me: https://foundation.etherpad.mozilla.org/pledgetoteachemail

5) Is there anything else needed to ship this?

I'm happy to help with the hands-on work if we're stretched for time. Let me know.

Let's assume the email copy in the etherpad is complete. I solicited final feedback yesterday and had no takers so we should be good to go.

As I see it we just need to 3 asks to be published as thimble URL's that we can link to and we are ready to send. If getting the content into thimble is something I can help with let me know.

Hi there, we have a detailed Q&A process for emails prior to production and setup. Kelli is copied on this bug and she's ready to start production as long as:

1. The copy is approved and final (tweaks made later can result in a lot of additional work) - Paul says it is. though based on past experience it's worth it to get affirmative signoff. If Geoffrey or anyone drops in with feedback after Kelli gets started it'll be painful;
2. The Thimble URLs for the CTAs are finalized and provided to Kelli in-line in the final copy;
3. The signer is finalized and added to the etherpad;
4. Tracking is in place for the funnel.

Also, someone (Adam? Paul?) must confirm all this has been completed and give Kelli a clear "green light" to launch the email.
@Andrea - thanks, that all sounds very sensible.

Let's use the existing snippet funnel working group call today to confirm as much of this as possible. I've just forwarded the appointment to Matt so that should be everyone needed to complete this.

Thanks,
A

Need to add this CTA language to the three makes:

Badge *claim your badge*. You (and any helpers) can now apply for a Webmaker “Skill Sharer” badge (https://webmaker.org/badges/skill-sharer ) to add to your profile. Show the world you taught the web!
* Hannah: I'm assuming I'm all done on this ticket -- let me know if you need anything further from me. I'll leave it with you guys to come up with whatever link you want for the privacy one

Hi,

Welcome to Mozilla Webmaker! Thank you for joining us and pledging to teach the Web. It's going to be easier and more fun than you think!

To get started, just gather a group of interested kids or adults together, and choose from the three activities below. Each one contains everything you need to teach a little something about how the Web works.

Activity 1: YouTube Karaoke. Participants will pick their favorite song from YouTube, lip-sync their own version on camera, and mash the two together to create their very own music video. Who knows? Maybe you'll discover the next YouTube sensation. [link: https://blog.webmaker.org/music_video]

Activity 2: Hack Your High School. Get a group of youth together to remix their schools’ web site. With our Xray Goggles tool, it's as easy as going to a school's website and changing some text to announce Summer's coming early or adding an image making Justin Bieber the new school mascot. [link: https://blog.webmaker.org/hack-your-school]

Activity 3: Private Eye. Participants will create their own Wizard of Oz moment by pulling back the curtain to see who's watching us on the Web. Turn on our Lightbeam tool, visit a handful of websites, and reveal who's tracking you. You'll never look at the Web the same way again. [link: https://laura.makes.org/thimble/lightbeam-activity]

We are so glad you joined the Webmaker community and have taken the pledge to teach the Web. Feel free to email or tweet to @webmaker if you have any questions. We're looking forward to seeing what you create!

Happy Making,
Amira
