User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; WOW64; rv:32.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/32.0
Build ID: 20140911151253

Steps to reproduce:

-Downloaded a .zip file a while ago, it failed for some reason
-I noticed Firefox was trying to redownload the file every time I opened my browser, it would immediately fail, so I removed it from my download history.
-Tried to redownload the same file and receive a different error each time.

Actual results:

-Firefox would try and redownload the file (I recorded it: http://labs.michaelrouse.net/reddit/HumiPBRHLr.gif) every time I opened the browser, it would always fail.
-Now when I try to download the same file again I get an error code about source code in the temp directory (I also recorded it: http://labs.michaelrouse.net/reddit/HumiPBRHLr.gif) the error code is different each time. (Other downloads work, and I have write permissions for the temp folder)

Expected results:

-It should have downloaded the file just like it downloads other files?
It appears I have included links to the same GIF. The GIF that shows the error message I see when I download the file can be seen here: http://labs.michaelrouse.net/reddit/pQ8ADYzIeG.gif
Paolo, any idea what's going wrong here?

Michael, does the file reappear unexpectedly at the next startup, if you chose the "remove from history" option in the item's right click menu? You should try with all tabs closed before restart, as sometimes downloads will be started automatically by an open webpage.

This is one of the error message boxes we'd like to rethink, because the message does not help in understanding the cause of the problem. We'd like to have a better message in the Downloads Panel instead of this one.

In this case, the error indicates that the problem is with the network. In other words, it is a problem with the website or with the network connection, and not a problem with the local disk or Firefox.
