So, the page load times for voodooextreme shot up enormously overnight (from ~5
seconds to ~45seconds, on Mac and Linux, but oddly not on win98).
The above test page simply reloads the voodooextreme content continuously and
blats a few dump statements to give a clue about progress in building the page.
When you load that page, you can see that this is continually computing the
whole time (on Linux). [i.e., this is not like other times, where the onload
just wouldn't fire].
dbaron did a jprof run of a build that did not have pavlov's changes from last
night, and sees a lot of work being done in nsCSSFrameConstructor.
hyatt, bryner, and I debugged this and came up with a patch. The problem was
uninitialized variables. It might have been responsible for many of the
assertions today as well.
