Details

I enabled e10s in 35.0a1 (2014-09-16) nightly and restarted the browser. When the "Nightly Start Page" was shown I tried dragging it out to create a new window. The new window was created, but the tab remained in the original window as well. I found that the orphaned tab could not be closed using any method. This is 100% reproducible for me. I also tried the same steps with e10s disabled and the tab was removed correctly there. So it seems to be an e10s specific problem.
