User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:32.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/32.0
Build ID: 20140911151253
Steps to reproduce:
Add new twitter account.
Connect twitter account.
Auth step/page 1 "Authorize Thunderbird chat to use your account."
Auth step/page 2 "Sign in to Twitter." <- fails
Actual results:
During the auth step 1 all the fields are interactive and can be (re)set.
During the auth step 2 (sign in) only the username field can be set. The password field can be focused but can not be typed into. The remember me checkbox is ticked and can't be un-ticked. The 'sign in' button is inactive and does not seem to be focusable. Other links on the sign in page work.
Using an external password manager (keepass classic from keepass.info) I am unable to autotype into either window (the auth / sign in window won't be focused and so keystrokes get sent to the wrong window). I can use ctrl+v into the password field on the step 1 page and also keepasses DnD (not sure how DnD of passwords is implemented). On the step 2 page the only way to populate the password field is to use the DnD method (normal human typing doesn't work as mentioned), however the 'sign in' button still does not work.
Expected results:
the sign in page password field & sign in button should have been interactive. Moreover adding a new twitter account should have succeeded.

I could not reproduce this bug in Instantbird or in Thunderbird. Here's what I did:
1) Create new twitter account on twitter website
2) Add it with "Add new account"
3) Connect from the account manager
4) A browser window shows up in which the only field that needs entering is the password. I entered it using copy/paste. "Remember me" is not ticked by default.
5) Click on "authorize app".
6) Connection succeeds.
I didn't get a second page at all.
Can you try and see if there is still a problem in a current nightly?
I wonder if there is some odd interaction going on with your password manager software.

Hmmm I'm guessing this was Twitter's issue. Just succeeded in adding the account using TB 31.2.0
There was no two step process this time, just a single Authorise App page.
My password manager was never the issue. I performed a test with the password manager closed and the password field was not editable (on that now non-existent second step page).

For the record: I'm having the exact same problem right now (Aug. 3rd, 2016) with Thunderbird 45.2.0.
The error console shows many parsing errors for CSS from twitter.com and lastly this:
Error: NS_ERROR_FAILURE:
Source File: https://abs.twimg.com/c/swift/en/init.a877a66a372b4165c7c8120de870aba9bf5a9810.js
Line: 669
I'll hope that the problems dissolves itself like it did for dekeonus baisenvar, but maybe Thunderbird could at least show an error message in these cases?
